Hong Kong is known for its shopping, food, and skyline views – but it’s also home to some incredible swimming pools. From the world’s highest rooftop pool to natural infinity ponds and stunning beach clubs, Hong Kong has the perfect way to cool off this summer.
Whether you want to swim laps or just soak up the atmosphere, Hong Kong has some of the best pools in Asia. And they’re not just for locals, either. You can even swim in a pool with a view at one of the city’s top hotels!
With a few days to go until the end of pandemic restrictions (including social-distancing and mask requirements), it’s a great time to visit some of Hong Kong’s top pools. But, with so many to choose from, where do you begin?
We’ve rounded up our favourites to help you find the perfect place to swim this summer.
If you’re looking for a swimming spot in the heart of the city, look no further than Island Shangri-La. Although it doesn’t have ocean vistas like some of the other options, its proximity to the Bank of China building and grass around the pool make this an urban oasis that’s perfect for anyone who wants to escape from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong.
This vast complex is located in Wong Chuk Hang and offers something for every kind of swimmer. You can swim laps in the main pool, practise your dives in the diving pool, or let the kids splash around in the outdoor children’s and leisure pools. Plus, they have four waterslides, including two that are said to be Hong Kong’s fastest!
Unlike some of the other swanky pools on our list, this one isn’t open to the public, but it’s worth a trip if you’re staying at The Kerry hotel. The rooftop infinity pool has amazing views of the city and is a great place to enjoy a sundowner.
Non-hotel guests can buy a day pass to spend four hours at the pool for $500 on weekdays or $700 on weekends. And if you’re feeling peckish after your swim, the pool bar offers free flow tapas and drinks during the weekend! It’s a great place to kick off your staycation.
